Also, please note our new rule regarding contact to the head. This has always been prohibited, but we have added a written clarification to outline consequences. Please play responsibly and with respect for your opponents’ safety.

Small Adjustment to the Schedule

Please note the following changes to the schedule since it was posted. The online schedule has already been updated, but the changes are summarized below for your convenience:

• Agent Orange vs Red Army — now Thu, Jan. 24 @ 10:00pm, Trout Lake
• Sandstorm vs Red Army — now Sun, Jan. 27 @ 7:15pm, Trout Lake
• Knights vs Agent Orange — now Sat, Feb. 16 @ 10:30pm, Kerrisdale
• Red Army vs Sandstorm — now Sun, Feb. 17 @ 10:30pm, Killarney

2nd-half Schedule Updated!

The schedule for the rest of the regular season has been released and can be found here.

The season is set to resume on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013. Playoffs will begin on Sunday, Feb. 17 for Division A, and Saturday, Mar. 2 for Divisions B and C.

2nd-half Schedule

The schedule for the rest of the regular season will be released in the middle of this week. The season is set to resume on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.

League Trades

League trades have occurred around the league. Players have been added to their new teams in both the stats and team pages.

Schedule Update

Retiering starts on Oct. 19. This is also the date that the new schedule begins.

You can find your team's schedule by clicking your team’s logo on the Schedule page. This is the best way to access your team’s full schedule. Checking only your division schedule may not display all games, as some teams still have one game left in their previous tier before Oct. 19.

Logos and Roster Update

All pages have been updated with new team logos and names where applicable.

A number of teams still haven’t submitted jersey numbers. Stats will be updated once we receive jersey numbers from captains — please let your captain know your preferred number as soon as possible.

The Team Roster spreadsheet has also been updated and can be found here.

“Teams” Pages Updated

The Teams page has been updated.

Stats will be updated approximately 1–2 times per week, once jersey numbers are submitted by captains.

We have made several updates to team rosters — changes are highlighted in yellow.

The Schedule and Statistics pages are now live. Rosters in the stats program will be updated as we receive jersey numbers from your captains.

The Teams page will be updated soon.

Note About Team Assignments

We have received several questions regarding player placements in the league.

The league does not place players based on ability — stronger players do not necessarily end up in Division A. We aim to balance all teams across all divisions by mixing various skill levels.

We hope this clarifies any confusion regarding your team placement.

Reminder: Full equipment is required (including shoulder pads), and you must wear facial protection — either a half shield or full cage. Without mandatory equipment, you will not be allowed on the ice. No exceptions!

Notes for the Weekend

Our beer garden and BBQ will run on Saturday and Sunday! The Canucks game will be shown on the TV in the lounge, and we’ll serve breakfast on Sunday morning.

Partial proceeds from the VACHL BBQ will go to the Britannia After School Hockey Program (BASH), which provides local youth an opportunity to play hockey at no cost.

Final Weekend Schedule & Adult Hockey Skills

The rest of the schedule has been posted for the final weekend of games on Saturday, Mar. 31 and Sunday, Apr. 1. All games will take place at Britannia, with food and a beer garden before or after your games. Bring family and friends to celebrate another great season!

League Reminders

Please remember: No drinking is allowed at any Vancouver Parks facilities. Any reports of VACHL teams drinking after icetimes will result in automatic forfeiture of the next game — even if it’s a semifinal or final.

Drinking after your final game (unless it’s at the beer garden) will result in a 1-game suspension next season.

Major infractions and game misconducts will result in suspensions that carry over to next season, with harsher consequences (longer suspensions or permanent bans). Please play respectfully and responsibly.

Adult Hockey Skills Programs

Britannia will be running Adult Hockey Skills Programs during April and May — covering general, offensive, and defensive skills. More info can be found here.

Spring Break

VACHL will be on hiatus during Spring Break, which explains the long gaps between playoff games.

Official break: Monday, Mar. 12 – Friday, Mar. 23. Games resume Saturday, Mar. 24.

Game scheduled on Jan. 27 @ Killarney will start at 9:15pm, not 9:45pm.

VACHL Holiday Break

The league will be on break from Dec. 19 – Jan. 2, 2012. Games resume the weekend of Jan. 7. Enjoy the holidays!

VACHL Retiering and Schedule Update

VACHL has completed retiering, and the schedule is now posted through the New Year. The new schedule begins Friday, Nov. 18.

All games played before this date still count toward standings.

Blackout Dates & Retiering

There will be no games on:

• Sat, Oct. 8 & Sun, Oct. 9 — Thanksgiving
• Fri, Nov. 11 & Sat, Nov. 12 — Remembrance Day

The league is currently retiering teams; a revised schedule will be released soon.

Teams & Schedule Updated — Rules Revised

Team rosters have been updated and are available here. The first two games of the season are now up on the Schedule page.

Because we strive to balance teams as fairly as possible, some player requests for specific rosters could not be fulfilled. Please contact the league office with any concerns.

New and returning players — please review the League Rules. Several differ from other leagues (including the NHL), and a few new ones were added this season.
