Playoff Format
All teams will play a total of 5 games (3 Round Robin and 2 playoff games).
1) Teams will be divided into two groups (A and B) based on regular season standings.
- Group A will have #1, 4, 6
- Group B will have #2, 3, 5
2) Teams will play three round robin games.
- Two games will be within their own group, with one cross-over game against the other group (1v5, 2v6, 3v4).
- Note: Round Robin games will only have 4v4 sudden-death overtime (no shootout).
3) Teams are then ranked by points (2pt win, 0pt loss, 1pt tie or OTL) within their group.
4) The Medal Rounds: The 1st ranked teams from each pool will face the 2nd ranked team from the opposite group in the semi-finals.
- Group A #1 vs Group B #2 (Semi-final 1)
- Group B #1 vs Group A #2 (Semi-final 2)
The winners of these games will play for 1st place, while the losers will play for 3rd.
5) Classification Games: The 3rd place team of each pool will play a 2-game mini-series.
Classification Series Notes
- If the series is tied 1–1 after regulation time of Game 2, a 5-minute “Mini-Game 3” (not sudden death) will be played.
- 3-player shootout will follow if still tied after “Mini-Game 3” to determine the winner of the series.
- If the series is tied 1–1 after overtime or shootout of Game 2, a “Mini-Game 3” or 3-player shootout will follow immediately (time permitting).
- If a game ends in a tie during semi-final, final, or classification rounds, there will be 4v4 sudden-death overtime (time permitting, changes on the fly only), followed by a 3-player shootout. Teams may repeat shooters once a roster cycle is complete.
General Playoff Notes
PIM threshold for playoffs resets to 15 PIM.
Once surpassed, players will be suspended for one game or the remainder of playoffs/season if it is their second suspension of the year.
